2013/14 Pre-season Update

The club successfully completed its annual Summer Coaching Programmes on 31st August 2013.  So what happens next? We shall focus the season on coaching and developing our U10’s U15’s and U17’s as we prepare for the new season.  The management is busy finalising a programme to ensure we get the players to peak fitness during this period whilst at the same time making it enjoyable. Looking ahead, we will be arranging pre-season games and entry in the SNT Tournament until the beginning of the season.   We have also been busy speaking to all of last season’s squad, in addition, we will also be registering many of our promising players who will be given the opportunity to impress and stake a claim in the squad. Discussions are also progressing well with a couple of targeted players invited to pre-season training so we can take a closer look at them. So watch this space!

We’ll keep you updated on any further news and developments!

The FA Blows the Whistle on Kids Trophies

The FA announced last year that it was to cut the awarding of Trophies to young children in leagues and competitions. The rule which takes place at the start of the 2013/14 season will see no results collected or published, meaning no league table or competition will be active.  The ruling which is already in place at the under-7s and under-8s will affect the under-9s leagues and proceed to affect the under-10s and under-11s in the next few years.  However the FA is still encouraging Clubs to reward players with Trophies at End of Season Presentations.
